St. Paul Church in Kuande

In October 2024 President Ron Turo visited Kuande, Benin, Africa to 
see, firsthand, the wells that the Foundation had paid for and to 
assess the impact on the population being served by each well. While there he visited a new mission church established in a remote part of Kuande. St. Paul Church is a block building built on a dirt floor with essentially no other normal related church amenities. He decided to do something to help finish the Church and to allow the local population a more appropriate space for worship. Working directly with the Pastor, he determined that the first need was to actually install doors on the building. The Pastor indicated that dogs, cats, sheep and goats would wander into the church and "hang out" inside. This created several concerns not the least of which was the lack of security for the sacramental vessels and the Eucharist.

Donors were sought to finance the inclusion of doors on each opening of the Church. Money raised, problem solved and the Church now can provide a secure space for the liturgical items.

Recently the Pastor reached out again and asked for help in putting down a concrete floor to replace the current dirt floor. Once again, 
the Foundation led donors to this most worthy cause and the floor will be installed in 2026.

The amazing thing about this project and so many others is that the people being served by a Church, a well, medical supplies etc do not seek anything for themselves but for their community. The Foundation has never been asked for a straight money donation but has been asked to help create or enhance community needs and spaces. The Turo Foundation is blessed to have the wherewithal and the friends to allow us to meet these needs. And the needs are many....

Donations are currently be collected to fund our next project. We are currently securing another well project in a different region of Africa and hope to have more information soon.
